Your first entity

Define a table, register it as an entity, and get its queries and default access.

In TAF Studio

  1. Open the object designer and add a table, for example Vendor with Name (text, required), Country (text) and Status.
  2. Choose Preview SQL to see the statement the platform will run. The platform only creates, adds or alters; it never drops columns.
  3. Publish. The table is registered as an entity.

What registration gives you

  • The entity and its fields.
  • Three saved queries: Default_Vendor, List_Vendor and Detail_Vendor.
  • An access row for every role, which you then adjust.
  • The generic data API for the entity, with audit and tenant scope.
Note

Existing tables can be registered too, as long as they have a GUID primary key. See Connect an existing SQL database.
